Altrincham's
Independent Grammar School
North Cestrian Grammar School is an independent
day school for boys and girls
aged eleven to sixteen years with a co-educational
Sixth Form. It is administered by a non-profit making Educational
Charity, the Trustees all being members of the Board of Governors.
The School is a non-denominational establishment which encourages
active participation in communal worship.
North Cestrian aims to provide
a grammar school education through a modern curriculum and within a
safe and structured environment. Pupils are prepared
for GCSE and 'A' Level examinations and for entry to University and
the School has a proven record of academic success. The size of the
School and the small classes help each child to know, understand
and respect those around, whilst the excellent pupil/teacher ratio
enables staff to treat pupils as individuals. Careful monitoring
of progress helps develop talent so that we get the very best out
of each child. A wide variety of sporting and social activities helps
to provide a fulfilling school life, boosting individual self-confidence
by proving that everyone can excel in some area, given opportunity
and encouragement.
Responsibility, initiative, self-respect, leadership and concern for others;
these are just some of the characteristics we believe can be fostered
by focusing on the triangular partnership of parents, pupils and
teachers. Thus, during seven fruitful years at North Cestrian, we
aim to see each child grow into a young adult who is happy in daily
life, confident in relationships with others and self-motivated about
work.
