University
Entrance
The vast majority of our Sixth Formers progress into Higher Education.
There is a comprehensive programme of time-tabled Careers and Higher
Education advice for both Sixth Form years. We also give interview
practice, and provide additional teaching for those applying to Oxford
or Cambridge. Higher Education advice begins in the Lower Sixth, the
aim being to send off University application forms as early as possible
in the Christmas Term. This puts our students' applications ahead of
most other schools, and results in early interviews and offers.
The extensive Careers and Higher Education Library is always available
for Sixth Form use. There is a bank of computers with Broadband access
for HE research. The School also has close links with Trafford
Connexions, and discussions with its officers can be arranged by Mr
Brown.
The School is fully supportive of GAP years before going into Higher
Education and gives advice on options.
The publication of "A" Level results occurs in mid-August,
and Staff are available at that time to advise on any difficulties
and help those who have to find a place through Clearing.
